Work-related deaths in the waste management industry are ten times the national average. Accident rates in the industry are four times in the national average.

AfOR ( Association for Organics Recycling) and along with Eco Sustainable Solutions are hosting a one day interactive health and safety workshop on 28 September 2010 in Parley, Christchurch. The open day will comprise site tours, interactive risk assessments and presentations.
