Nuclear consultation – Table of responses

A consultation was held between 12 May – 30 June and ONR wrote to all nuclear site licence holders to consult them on possible amendments.  A table of responses has now been published online.

Learning from HSE enforcement experience

In September and October 2011, 79 companies or individuals were found guilty and fined as a result of being prosecuted by HSE. Six of these prosecutions were related to maintenance work.

Next meeting of Hanson Cement Investigation Response Team (Public Health Wales release)

The sixth meeting of the Hanson Cement Investigation Response Team is taking place on Tuesday 6 December 2011 when experts from Public Health Wales, the Health Protection Agency, and the Health and Safety Executive will present the final elements of the investigation’s work.

Air transport case study – ExxonMobil hose-wrapping intervention to reduce pulling forces when refuelling aircraft

Employees engaged in aircraft refuelling operations are required to manually remove the refuelling hose from the rear of the fuelling truck. This case study describes the improvements made by ExxonMobil to reduce the manual handling risks.
