RR885 – Assessment of current guidance in relation to safe carriageway crossing (CIS53) on high speed roads

This work has assessed the adequacy of current guidance – HSE Construction Information Sheet 53 (CIS53) – aimed at clients, designers and workers involved in road works on motorways/high speed dual carriageways (50mph or greater).

National Integrated Waste Strategy (IWS) Shaping Event outcome document

For many years, nuclear regulators have actively worked towards integrated management of radioactive waste on nuclear sites, via the development and use of, integrated waste strategies. In 2010 sufficient information had been gathered, to justify holding a significant regulator led National IWS Shaping Event. Following this event a factual report recording the days events and output was issued. This brief document is the Office for Nuclear Regulation views on the events outputs and our immediate and intended actions.

Safety alert – Preventing inrushes at underground mines

The purpose of this safety alert is to remind owners and managers of producing mines of the precautions to be taken against inrushes and request owners confirm that appropriate measures to protect against inrush are in place at their mines.
